I am a married african american mother of five living in Atlanta, by way of Detroit. My daughters are at the age wear their friends at school are wearing relaxers. I began my transition originally in May 09, but broke down and got a relaxer because I lacked the proper knowledge on transitioning and got a relaxer. I made the decision to go natural in November 2010 because I want my daughters to love the hair that God gave them. I want to show them that they don’t have to conform to the limits and trends of beauty displayed by society today. After one year of transitioning I did the big chop. Its a journey and sometimes a struggle but I cant look back.

  1. Hi! (sorry cant find your name anywhere) thanks for following me 🙂 Its encouraging to read here about you setting an example for your daughters. I look forward to reading more of your blog. Are you on bloglovin by any chance?

  2. Hi there, if you’re interested, I would like to see if you would want to include your blog in a natural hair blog directory so that we can spread the word about your blog! If so, visit naturalhairblogdirectory.com and fill out the profile application. We do this to provide an organized way for naturals to find your blog in the directory!
